Artist Statement

For nearly forty years, Anna d’Onofrio and Ken Kraus have been partners in both life and art, weaving together architecture, design, painting, sculpture, and ceramics into a shared creative place

Their collaborative journey began with architecture and interior design projects in Connecticut; including the development of historic state street in New Haven, Connecticut which evolved through gallery ownership, a sabbatical in Italy, and years of travel that continued to inspire their work. Today, they create side by side at their studio in Hudson, NY, a place filled with paintings, hand-built ceramics, and the energy of endless discovery.

Anna’s organic porcelain forms, are rolled, coiled, and shaped entirely by hand, celebrating natural elegance of clay and accented by subtle white alabaster glazes. Ken’s abstract paintings and sculptures are vibrant exploration of color, texture, and architectural form, balancing gestural movement with movement of precise detail.

Together, Anna and Ken approach their work as a shared journey; one rooted in curiosity, play, and love of materials. Each piece is an exploration, reflecting their dialogue with clay, color and form, and offering a glimpse into their love for creating.
