Artist Statement

I’m an abstract painter drawn to bold color and forms that often hint at figures or landscapes without clearly defining them. I work primarily in oil paint, using palette knives and a variety of tools more than traditional brushes. I like the physicality of dragging, scraping, and layering the paint—building texture, revealing what’s underneath, and letting accidents become part of the piece.

I rarely start with a fixed idea. Instead, I let the painting unfold on its own, following instinct and emotion rather than a plan. This process helps me give shape to whatever I’m feeling most strongly in the moment, and that makes each piece personal and meaningful to me.

I paint because it’s where I feel most at ease—lost in the rhythm of paint and canvas, the weight of the knife in my hand, and the slow movement of oil across the surface. In that space, I step away from daily life and into a quieter, more honest part of myself.
