Step into an immersive evening where music and visual art unfold together in real time. Canvas & Chords brings audiences into the creative process as live painting and live music share the stage, transforming the theater into a living studio of sound, color, and movement.
The night features the evocative songwriting of Tim Haufe, a respected voice in the New York City and Hudson Valley singer-songwriter communities. With several albums and international tours behind him, Haufe’s music blends melodic sophistication with emotional depth. His thoughtful, introspective songs create a rich sonic landscape—perfectly suited for an intimate Art House setting.
Alongside the music, Philip Gebhardt will create a live painting during the performance, allowing the audience to witness the evolution of a work from its first marks to its final form. A lifelong New York State resident, Philip holds a BFA from Marist College and a Master’s in Art Teaching from the School of Visual Arts, and has spent over 15 years teaching and exhibiting throughout New York City and the Hudson Valley. His work explores the tension between deconstruction and reconstruction, embracing a gestural style where spontaneity meets deliberate form. Through layered textures, expressive brushwork, and a dialogue between figuration and abstraction, his paintings reflect the rhythms and chaos of life and nature. Philip’s recent exhibitions include numerous regional group shows and his 2024 solo exhibition “Between Bodies” at Arbor Gallery. He currently works from his studio in Hudson, NY, where he also curates collaborative exhibitions that bring together artists from across the region.
Together, Haufe’s resonant music and Gebhardt’s evolving canvas create a unique multi-sensory experience—an evening where sound inspires image, and image deepens the music.
Join us for a night of creative dialogue, spontaneous expression, and the powerful intersection of art and music.
