Kaitlyn Synan is a psychedelic contemporary artist raised in the Catskills. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Visual Art and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History, with a minor in Psychology from SUNY Purchase, an interdisciplinary foundation that informs her reflective, layered process. Raised in the first artist colony of New York by a painter and a musician, art has been integral to her growth and development. Through her work, Synan alchemizes her experiences into colors and textures, building her understanding of connection through a surreal and abstract lens.
Artist Statement
Raised in the Catskills, I draw inspiration from quiet, cyclical rhythms; whether that's found in nature, experience, or emotion. I expand on an ongoing dialogue that extends to both our inner and outer worlds. Through glowing motifs and soft textures, I explore the beauty found in the overlooked and the in-between, inviting viewers to slow down and witness the ephemeral.
