EMILY ABRASOM
46 Greene Street
Emily Abrasom is an interdisciplinary artist & storyteller (with stories in the likes of the Moth and Front Parlor) constantly examining the throughlines of data, science, creativity, and the way people interact with one another in the spaces they inhabit. Her background in Fine Art, Ecology, and Anthropology has helped her to see the deep, ongoing interconnection between people and the Earth they dwell in.

Artist Statement
My art reflects the infinite, interconnected histories between people and our single, precious planet. An interdisciplinary artist by definition, I take every step of the art into my own hands. Shooting, developing, printing, cutting, pasting, sewing; each slow, deliberate step steeps me in the slow reality of the natural world around us that is so easy to forget.
This work reflects the reality that we — humans, planet, paint, film, flowers, lichen — are incredulously, astonishingly, irrevocably, devastatingly intertwined.
