Wyatt Dawson: Previous to living in Hudson I spent three years living and being homeschooled on a sailboat in the Bahamas. On the boat I had a lot of time on my hands and made numerous paintings inspired by my surroundings. Now I am in my sophomore year at Bard early college, with an interest in the arts and classic literature. I spent the past summer as Asistant Set Designer for the Columbia County Players’s production of “The Comedy of Errors.” I was lucky to be introduced to the Hudson Open Studios through Pauline Decarmo, who has been mentoring me in her studio.
Artist Statement
I am primarily a painter and sculptor working in oil paint. Recently I started making plaster casts of my sculptures. I am inspired by classical painters and sculptors.
