Evan Collier is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and fabricator whose work moves fluidly between sculpture, photography, sound, and commercial design. For the past two decades, he has been one of New York City's leading commercial artists, building a career on the same instincts he brings to the studio: precision, craft, and an eye for what a material or a moment actually wants to become.
That range runs through everything he makes. A background in music shaped his sense of rhythm, repetition, and structure — qualities that surface as readily in a welded form as in a composed image. His ongoing photographic series Piles turns everyday accumulation into quiet studies of form and entropy. And his sculptural fabrication work, including structural and suspension elements built for the Flight 93 Tower of Voices memorial, treats engineering as its own kind of composition.
Collier's practice resists a single medium because his questions don't have one: what holds together, what accumulates, what resonates, and what happens when function is asked to also be beautiful.
