ERIK LONG
Erik Long is an artist and illustrator based in Hudson, New York. Working primarily in ink, he combines graphic simplicity with obsessive mark making, using dense stippling, clean line work, and recurring motifs to create a distinctive visual world.
Long’s work moves between drawing, illustration, and sequential storytelling, incorporating anthropomorphic characters, architectural forms, roots, portals and other surreal interpretations of everyday life. His process is defined by the contrast between economical compositions and the intensive handwork required to produce them.
Erik has exhibited in Hudson and Provincetown, Massachusetts and his practice includes editorial and publication work. Across both fine art and illustration, Long approaches individual images as parts of a larger, continuously evolving artistic language.
